Job Description

PMM & PM Lead

Location: Remote

Job Type: Full Time

Department: Marketing

The Role

We’re looking for a Technical Product Marketing Manager (PMM) who will also act as a Product Manager (PM). This dual-role requires deep technical expertise, cybersecurity industry knowledge, and go-to-market (GTM) acumen to bridge product development and customer adoption. This role will combine aspects of Product Marketing and Product Management – you will work closely with the head of marketing and CEO/founder to manage release schedules, positioning and product strategy so that it serves our customers, establishes us as leaders in the market and generates interest from prospects.

You will own product positioning, messaging, and launch strategies while also helping define the product roadmap based on market needs, customer feedback, and competitive analysis. This is a high-impact role ideal for someone with experience in security, cloud infrastructure, and developer-focused products.

What You'll Do

Product Marketing (PMM)

• Develop technical positioning and messaging that resonates with security engineers, DevOps, and IT teams.

• Own go-to-market (GTM) strategies, including product launches, competitive differentiation, and demand generation.

• Create compelling content (whitepapers, case studies, blogs, webinars) that communicates Pomerium’s value proposition.

• Collaborate with Sales to develop technical sales enablement materials (battle cards, pitch decks, FAQs).

• Engage in developer advocacy by fostering an active community, speaking at conferences, and producing open-source content.

Product Management (PM)

• Drive the product roadmap, prioritizing features based on customer insights, security trends, and market demand.

• Conduct market research and competitive analysis to inform feature development and positioning.

• Work with engineering teams to define technical requirements and ensure successful product releases.

• Gather feedback from customers and open-source users to refine usability and product adoption.

• Define and track key product adoption and retention metrics.

What We're Looking For

  • Technical Background – 3-5+ years in product marketing, product management, or a related role in cybersecurity, cloud security, IAM, or DevSecOps.

  • Experience in Identity & Access Management (IAM), Zero Trust, and security protocols (OAuth, OIDC, SAML, RBAC, ABAC).

  • Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure), Kubernetes, and security architectures.

  • Ability to translate technical concepts into clear, compelling messaging for both technical and business audiences.

  • Proficiency in developer-focused GTM strategies (docs, APIs, developer communities).

  • Strong writing and presentation skills – ability to produce engaging technical content.

  • Experience working with open-source products is a plus.

What We Offer

  • This Role: This is a unique role unlike any other in the market.

  • Competitive Compensation: Salary and equity that reflect your skills and experience.

  • Flexible Work Environment: Work remotely from anywhere in the world. Must be primarily located in the US.

  • Health & Wellness: Comprehensive health benefits and generous PTO.

  • Professional Growth: Opportunities for learning, training, and attending industry conferences.

  • Meaningful Impact: Shape the future of secure access and make a difference in cybersecurity.

If you’re excited to be part of a fast-growing security company and help shape the future of access control, we’d love to hear from you!
